15 Ways to Effectively Strengthen Your Willpower

1. Set small, achievable goals.

The strength of the will is to keep your mind on the reward. Determine what you are working on, and design a plan for how to get there. This plan should include small, achievable goals along the way. Taking things in one day, one step at a time allows for little victories, which increases confidence and collectively allows you to develop good habits and strengthen the will of the will.

2. Monitor your thoughts and follow.

The increase of willpower and productivity requires monitoring your actions and thoughts and remain committed to short- and long-term goals. Avoid acting without reflection. When you’re disappointed, stay calm and get a clear idea of ​​what needs to be solved to avoid emotional decisions. Secondly, identify and remove the distractions so that you can stay committed to your plan.

3. Use short flashes as a catalyst.

Use short queues of will power to push yourself beyond your limits. I’ve found that starting from a small one, taking one step beyond your limits and then two, and then three, will help build a conviction that eventually leads to huge jumps beyond what you thought possible. It works because it teaches your mind to use the will as a catalyst to achieve the great things that you want.

4. Win a day.

I heard that 21 days are needed to create a new habit. Others said 30 days and even 90 days. But I think it’s best to win the day and then tie a bunch of these victories together. One day you can easily win, and then – a line that consists of three days and five days and weeks. Each small victory builds momentum, and all this impulse creates the best habits.

5. Take a cold shower.

It may sound like a decisive event, but receiving a cold shower (or even partially cold showers) is a great way to strengthen your will. Suffering increases your will more than success. Forcing yourself to be uncomfortable, you ultimately feel confident and endowed with authority (as well as upgraded). To accept a cold shower – even if only 20 seconds – takes the will of the will.

6. Just keep working.

Most marathon runners are aware of the terrible “wall”. The wall is a place where your body closes around the mile 20, and your mind starts shouting at you to stop. When a person completes his first marathon, they will build willpower in two ways: firstly, training daily and increasing miles slowly over time, and secondly, performing the last painful marathon miles in the broken body.

7. Become an hour earlier.

Once you get older, you get an extra hour to prepare for the day. Use it for meditation, physical exercises, walks or to do certain business tasks. If you are used late late, you may need to go to sleep before, so you do not get sleepy. Most people are more productive at the beginning of the day, so creating such an extra hour may be of great importance.

8. Record the goals and progress.

When I see my goals in writing and every day I write what I did to achieve them, it helps me to be more responsible and eliminate those feelings of weakness in order to achieve or do what I know I should not. I do not want to write that I slipped and let go of the force to achieve this goal.

9. Speak “no”.

I say “no” loudly when I start to feel that I’m slipping in a goal where I need the will of the will. It sounds silly, but it helps me hear. From there, I think about the reason that I’m staying strong in this area and what the result will be for this.

10. Post your goals.

Bet with friends or tweets “I’ll reach X by this date” goes a long way in helping you reach your goals. By taking steps to publicize your goals, pressure is rising, as many people do not want their failures to be public.
